Public Art Community Center (PACC)

The PACC project is aimed to encourage young Thai artists to perform and exhibit their creative arts, and to be an art space for everyone.

This project is located in the house of Phraya Burutratthanarachaphanlop (Nop Krairiksh). Within this area, there are four old buildings; one of them, located in the central site, is an archaeological building and another one had been a residence of Master Silpa Bhirasri for 7 years.

On top of that, it could be remarked to a potential development this area into the art space. However, this area has belonged to the Army Internal Audit Office and has been used for the purpose of the office building and military flats only such that the overall area has been utilized inefficiently. As a consequence, the development project of this area has been initiated by taking the advantages of old buildings and large plaza area to utilize the area to be more efficient and more beneficial, as well as to become the new landmark of the art space in Bangkok for Thai people.

The key value to design and develop this area is about to address the values of the old buildings, by using transparent materials and the compatible colors with the old buildings, and mimicking some shapes and styles from the old buildings. Therefore, the use of this area will be more flexible to accommodate a variety of exhibitions together with to develop into a fully-integrated public area for the art space in the end.
