The National Museum of Royal Barges aims to gather, preserve and exhibit all of the royal barges and other antiquities include artifact, which is Thailand valuable cultural heritage. It reflects the diverse dimensions of the abilities, beliefs, nobility and the identity of the nation and other aims The National Museum of Royal Barges have a shipyard section and part of the museum can changed in to the place to prepare the royal ceremony in water side call “Phayuhayardthrachonlamark”. This museum building where the architecture of the present which has changed to accommodate the need of the modern era and present day of Thai architecture.
The site area analysis result revealed that site can be a valuable cultural context and the new landmark of Chao- Phraya river side.
The National Museum of Royal Barges has a total area of 26,750 square meter, with the main part of the museum being the royal barges and supporter class barges contain and exhibition area. The content of the exhibition will focus on the way presenting how to be came a royal barge with water culture and living culture of Siamese that related to the river. The main concept of museum and other area including on this project is “REMINDER AND MOVEMENT”.
