The idea behind remaster plan & landscape design is “Mc Kean Blooming Era” which responds to the project’s objective of becoming a leading elderly care Christian institute. It embodies a reflection of Christian believes into the masterplan which is comparable to the time when Mc Kean Senior Center is blooming with Faith, Hope and Love.
“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love” 1 Corinth 13:13
“Faith” the church and historical park have been utilized as an intergeneration area where elders can connect with people of all ages. The area still preserves The Cross Sacred Axis where several important buildings are located such as the church which is the place that has held spiritual belief for many since the past. The plan and the area’s uniqueness were also studied to interpret and reflect Mc Kean’s history and beauty in the past for visitors through the design.
“Now Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see” Hebrews 11:1
“Love” the senior community applies the “senior co-housing” idea into the plan and design. It adapts the unique plan of leper’s village in the past and emphasizes interaction area for elders in the community and social activity area. Senior residents can enjoy warm and supportive atmosphere, making their stay at this senior community pleasant, filled with love, warmth, and the blooming in later years of their lives.
“ Love is Patient, love is kind, love does not envy, love does not boast, love is not conceited” 1 Corinthians 13:4
“Hope” is where the hospital and the intermediate care are situated. The hospital area utilizes Christian belief as the core to welcome and invite everyone to religious healing. There is a design of the praying area that supports spiritual mending. It is a place that looks after elders’ holistic care and spirituality.
“We have this Hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,” Hebrews 6:19
